Dundalk, Leinster, Ireland
Dundalk is an Irish town located in the province of Leinster and lies close to the border with Northern Ireland. It lies in the middle of Dublin and Belfast, both being 80 kilometres away. It has a population of 39,004 inhabitants. The region the town is located in has been inhabited since the Neolithic period, but Dundalk was only established in the 12th century as a Norman stronghold. The town mainly features buildings from the 19th century, like the Dundalk Courthouse and the St. Patricks Church. The areas surrounding the city contain touristic sites as well, including the 13th century Castle Roche and the 5000-year-old Proleek Dolmen.
